Business & Occupation Tax Credit

The City offers a three year tax credit to new businesses located in designated located in designated areas of the City.

Business License

Any activity conducted for income is considered to be a business. In order to conduct business in the municipal limits of the City of Clarksburg, you must obtain a City Municipal Business License.

Contractor License

All person(s) performing construction activities are required to obtain a Contractor License with the City of Clarksburg.

Handyman License

In order to be eligible for a handyman license the total contract amount received for each individual job performed it the City limits of Clarksburg during license period July 1st through June 30th will not exceed the amount of $2,500 for the total cost of materials and labor (regardless of whether materials are purchased by the handyman or the project owner).

Home Rule

The City of Clarksburg was awarded Home Rule by the West Virginia Municipal Home Rule Board on Monday October 6, 2014.
