The City of Clarksburg Mayor's Youth Council is back! We will be accepting applications for the 2023-24 Mayor's Youth Council under the direction of Mayor Jim Malfregeot, Vice Mayor Jerry Riffle, and with the assistance of the City Clerk's Office. The program is open to any student in the 9th, 10th, 11th or 12th grades who attends a city school: Notre Dame, Liberty, RCB, Emmanuel Christian or is home-schooled and resides in the Clarksburg city limits or resides in one of the above-referenced school districts.
It is the mission of the Mayor's Youth Council to work together to make Clarksburg a better place for everyone by recognizing the opinions, concerns and needs of youth. Throughout the 2023-24 MYC year, the Youth Council will participate in community service projects, receive hands-on learning of the operations of the various City departments and have the opportunity to voice youth-related concerns. Transportation arrangements to and from the meetings are the responsibility of the students.
Applications are available at the noted schools or on the City's website and Facebook page. We ask that all applications be brought with you to the first MYC meeting on Thursday, September 28th at 6:00 p.m. at the Clarksburg Municipal Building, Council Chambers, 2nd Floor, 222 West Main Street. Should you have any questions, please contact the City Clerk's Office at 304-624-1673 or by email to awright@cityofclarksburgwv.com. Thank you!
