Mandatory, Pre-Bid Meeting

Rort Krause, representing the West Virginia State Department of Administration (General Service Division), began today’s mandatory, pre-bid meeting for the construction of the new state building, to be located on West Main Street in the Business District of Clarksburg.  As part of the meeting, representatives from Alpha Architecture ( gave a presentation, as to the details of the construction of the project, and included the before and after photos from the site.  Many individuals, representing various construction companies, were present to sign up for the bid process, which calls upon individuals to have their bids submitted no later than February 27th, 2014. 


The contractor awarded with the project will be given a fixed period of five hundred and fifteen (515) days for substantial completion, which must begin within thirty 30 days of the closing of contract, and is to be fully completed within five hundred and forty-five (545) days.  


As part of the presentation, City Manager, Martin Howe introduced Anthony Bellotte of the Economic Development Team, and Adam Barberio, Code Enforcement Supervisor to all of the contractors in order to make them aware of their roles in the project.  City Manager Howe stated, “I was pleased to see this meeting take place.  We have been working hard to make the preparations for the construction of this project, and it is exciting to watch it begin to take shape.  The new state building will do great things for uptown Clarksburg.”
