The Clarksburg Police Department Volunteers in Police Service (VIPS)
The mission of Clarksburg Volunteers in Police Service is to support the department by providing non-enforcement services that allow sworn officers to focus on their primary mission of crime prevention and enforcement of the state and city laws. Qualified candidates 21 years of age or older must be a current US citizen with a valid driver's license and good driving record. Additionally, one can have no felony convictions and must be able to pass a background check.
Training will be held monthly and volunteers are required to log a minimum of 16 hours of service per month.
Applications can be picked up at the Clarksburg Police Department at 222 West Main Street, Clarksburg, WV during normal business hours (Monday through Friday 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.)
