Today in Council Chambers Senator Facemire and Senator Romano presented a $5,000 check to The City of Clarksburg for the purchase and installation of ADA accessible playground equipment and materials for our city parks.  This project is being made possible thanks to the Governor’s Community Participation Grant Program.  Senator Facemire stated “I really appreciate Councilman Malfregeot and the City of Clarksburg working towards making recreation within the parks ADA accessible.”

Mayor Catherine Goings stated “The City of Clarksburg is honored and greatly appreciates the financial support to continue our efforts to improve the ADA accessibility within our parks.”  Councilman Malfregeot ended with “this endeavor became near and dear to me when my wife, Brenda, and I attended a graduation party at the VA Park and we both noticed a young boy constrained to a wheelchair wasn’t able to participate in activities and we thought all children should have the opportunity to swing and have the wind in their face.”

Present for the check presentation were from left to right:  Son and wife of Councilman Malfregeot, James and Brenda Malfregeot, Councilman Malfregeot, Senator Facemire, Mayor Catherine Goings, and Senator Romano.
