Pre-Bid Meeting Held for Asbestos Abatement and Demolition of Structures Throughout City

A Non-Mandatory Pre-Bid Meeting was held today, Wednesday, October 18, 2017 in the City Manager’s Conference Room for the Asbestos, Abatement and Demolition of various structures throughout the City.

Eleven (11) contractors attended the non-mandatory meeting led by Stantec Consulting Services.  In attendance representing the City were City Manager Martin Howe, Assistant City Manager Anthony Bellotte, MS4 Director Adam Barberio, City Engineer Tom Brown and Finance Director Kim Karakiozis.

The Urban Renewal Authority previously executed a loan closing with MVB Bank for $400,00 to be used for the asbestos abatement and demolitions of the various structures placed out for sealed bids.

In addition, The City is accepting sealed bids for one (1) contract containing four additional structures which the City will consider awarding using Tax Increment Finance Funds (TIF).

The advertisement for bids is available on our website at http://cityofclarksburgwv.com/departments/finance/bids-contracts .  All bids are due by 2:00 PM on Thursday, October 26, 2017 at which point the URA will consider awarding at their November 2, 2017 meeting and City Council will consider awarding at their November meeting.
