The Galleria Mini Mall, located at 344 – 348 West Main Street, will soon be undergoing renovations to become a Cultural Center in Downtown Clarksburg.

Property Owner Weege Vargo plans to turn the two-story building into the Devono-Vargo Cultural Center for the Preservation of Ethnic Heritage and History.

Phase One of renovations will begin today and include the removal of the balconies and stair cases on the rear of the structure that immediately abuts Traders Alley.  The replacing of the roof and all windows will soon follow.

All contract work will be performed by Feline Excavation who was issued a permit on Monday, September 26, 2017.

The anticipated twelve-month project will conclude with a dedication of the building that will include the West Virginia Italian Heritage Festival Offices, multiple exhibit halls and a Cultural Center that honors all ethnicities.

Weege Vargo stated, “The Devono-Vargo Cultural Center is an opportunity to memorialize my mother who had an open-mind and heart for all ethnicities and cultures and help that live on through her eyes.”
