State Office Complex Dedication Ceremony

The State Office Complex located in Clarksburg’s Central Business District held its official grand opening and dedication ceremony today.  Governor Earl Ray Tomblin was in attendance along with City and County officials, State Delegates, Senators and Congressmen.   

The 84,000 square foot, 25 million dollar complex houses the Division of Motor Vehicles, the Department of Health and Human Resources, the Division of Rehabilitation Services, WorkForce WV, the Auditor’s Office and the state Tax Department. 

These six agencies employ approximately 180 employees and bring significant foot traffic to our Downtown area.  Mayor Catherine Goings stated, “We welcome all the employees into our Central Business District and appreciate the economic impact they provide to our community.”

City Manager Martin Howe concluded, “The overall economic boost to Downtown will be seen overtime, the state of the art facility is a substantial improvement to the Central Business District and will be a catalyst for future development.”
