NOTICE TO PROCEED – HIGHLAND-CLARKSBURG HOSPITAL RENOVATIONS

Clarksburg, WV…Highland-Clarksburg Hospital, Inc. (HCHI) received word from the USDA that the $21.0 million in funds for the direct loan had been transferred to the State account.  This is in addition to the $13.8 million of the guaranteed loan amount allocated earlier.  Jim Dissen, CEO of Highland thanks everyone involved in bringing this project to fruition.

City Manager, Martin Howe stated, “This is a great opportunity for the Construction Manager to secure all paperwork in advance which will expedite the process and the renovation upon the closing of the loan.”  He further stated, “There is a tremendous amount of interest with this project within the city, county, and North Central West Virginia.

“A Notice to Proceed has been issued to the Construction manager, R.C. General Contractors.  This Notice to Proceed allows them to begin the preparation and issuance of contracts, securing the insurance certificates and the dual obligee bonds.  In addition, the asbestos abatement contractor can begin the necessary paper work for the abatement of the facility, which would include the proper notifications. There will be NO construction until the closing of the loans from the USDA and Huntington Banks.  We anticipate that construction will commence around the first of the year,” stated Mike Casdorph, HCHI

Once again, HCHI is deeply appreciative of everyone’s efforts in getting our project ready for construction.
