Clarksburg Fire Department Swear In: Joshua Keough

The City of Clarksburg Fire Department is proud to announce that Joshua Keough has been officially sworn in as a Probationary Firefighter.  Joshua represents the fourth generation of Keough’s which has proudly served the Clarksburg Fire Department, and is one (1) of five (5) firefighters in history to be serving at the same time as his father, Provisional Captain, Joe Keough.  The ceremony, which took place in the City Council Chambers, was packed with many Clarksburg Firefighters, Joshua’s wife Meghan, other members of his family, and representatives from the City of Clarksburg.

Chief Rick Scott introduced Joshua to those in attendance, by explaining that as a child, Joshua would spend time with his Father at the City Fire Hall.  Chief Scott went on to explain that Joshua has been serving at the City of Bridgeport, but recently made the choice to come and serve the great City of Clarksburg instead.  Shortly after being sworn in, City Clerk, Annette Wright read the following statement on behalf of Mayor, Catherine Goings. “Congratulations in becoming a new member of our elite Fire Department.  We are proud to have another member of the Keough family amongst the ranks.  Thank you and the members of your family for the dedicated commitment that you give to the City of Clarksburg.”  Following Goings statement, Councilwoman Bailey explained how proud she was of his commitment to serving the department, while Councilman Malfregeot stated, “What is Bridgeport’s loss, is our Gain.”  The ceremony ended with City Manager, Martin Howe expressing his gratitude for Keough making the choice to work for the City of Clarksburg.
