Clarksburg Uptown Awards Façade Grant to Kelly’s Irish Pub

Policano facade grant phoo

On December 2, 2013, Clarksburg Uptown awarded a façade grant in the amount of $250 to Matt Policano, owner of Kelly’s Irish Pub located at 221 S. 3rd Street, Clarksburg. The façade grand is part of Clarksburg Uptown’s efforts to revitalize “uptown” Clarksburg.

Policano intends to use this grant to help with the costs of scraping and power washing the walls of his newly-acquired pub and to prep and caulk the walls prior to priming and painting. In addition to these improvements, Policano plans to patch the exterior tile in the foyer.

The Uptown façade grants for exterior building improvements are available to any member of Clarksburg Uptown. These grants are not the only program available to aide member-businesses with their business fronts. Through the Harrison County Economic Alliance, you can borrow between $5,000—$250,000 at only 1 1/4% interest for five years. Also, through the Clarksburg Urban Renewal Authority you can receive 80% funding with a $2.000 maximum for façade improvements. Meaning: Upon approval of your application, if you invest $1,000 you will receive $800 reimbursement. For more information on the Clarksburg Uptown grant visit www.clarksburguptown.com or call 304.677.8612. For information on these last two programs, you can visit the city website or call the City Manager's office at 304.624.1677.
