Cadalzo Contemporary Dance Studio

Cadalzo Contemporary Dance Studio gives area children the opportunity to experience the arts sector while being located in the Central Business District of Clarksburg. Cadalzo Contemporary Dance Studio has been located in downtown Clarksburg for 7 years, previously under the ownership of Staci Cadalzo, and recently being purchased by Jackie Reed. Reed had the opportunity to purchase the studio after Cadalzo had revealed to her that her family was expanding and would otherwise be closing the studio. “I bought this studio because I wanted to make sure there was still quality instruction provided for the kids in our area, said Reed.

Despite being under new ownership, the studio is still under the artistic direction of Staci Cadalzo. Cadalzo graduated from Point Park University with a degree in Dance and has over fifteen years of professional dance experience. Allowing her to stay involved in the business she originally started.

Cadalzo Contemporary Dance Studio recently expanded their classes to what would attract parents and students to this new studio. The studio recognized the areas need for acrobatic classes. While there are other similar classes offered in the area, Cadalzo’s focuses on teaching Fluidity, Technique, and Flexibility. After being introduced to former team member and current assistant coach of the West Virginia University Dance Team, Morgan McNabb, Reed hired her to teach Cadalzo's Acro class.

After the Robinson Grand Performing Arts Center making its return to Clarksburg and driving her daughter back and forth to Morgantown, Reed realized that a musical theater class was just the thing Clarksburg and Cadalzo needed. Reed came in contact with Katherine Smart Hughes, who performed on national tours of The Full Monty (NETworks), Annie (NETworks), and Funny Girl (MAINSTAGE), and now teaches Cadalzo’s musical theater class.

Cadalzo Contemporary Dance Studio exposes their students to the arts sector through dance, acrobatics and music theater classes. “I want people to know that there are qualified people teaching these classes here in Clarksburg”, said Reed. Along with Cadalzo, McNabb, and Hughes, former WVU Dance Team Alumni Mariah Congedo and current WVU Dance Team Ballet Instructor Morgan Lawrence are also on Cadalzo’s teaching staff. “I believe in the city and making great things happen here, great things can happen in Clarksburg”, stated Reed. Since taking over ownership there has been an increase in enrollment.

Cadalzo Contemporary Dance Studio is located in the former Starving Artist’s location of 354 W. Main Street in Clarksburg. This area, that was previously used as an art studio, gives this current dance studio a creative and artistic edge. “Cadalzo provides an artistic and creative environment with a family atmosphere. Our daughter has grown while learning discipline and the art of dance”, expressed Heidi Seamon.
