For 41 years, the West Virginia Italian Heritage Festival (WVIHF) has been bringing Italian Culture and events to Uptown Clarksburg. Established in 1979 by pillars of the Clarksburg community to honor the past, celebrate the present and preserve the rich traditions for future generations.

The WVIHF is kicked off each year with their Spring Gala where the new Regina Maria and her court are announced. Followed by night of dancing and dinner. The 2019 Spring Gala will be held April 27, 2019 at the Village Square Conference Center in Clarksburg.

Throughout the summer various fundraisers are held to benefit the festival, up until the Pasta Cook Off. The Pasta Cook Off is the kick off to the festival’s events, held the Saturday before each upcoming festival. The Pasta Cook Off is held at Jackson Square in Clarksburg. Various members of the community compete in the Pasta Cook Off and are judged by event goers in different pasta categories.

The Festival takes place every year during Labor Day Weekend. The festival is kicked off each year on Friday with the coronation of the Festival’s queen. The festival takes place Friday, Saturday, and Sunday with a variety of entertainment and food highlighting the Italian Culture. The Festival is filled with performances by Italian Americans, Italian food vendors, a parade that highlights the queen, her court, and other pillars in the area’s Italian American community, and brings people from all over the world to the Clarksburg community to celebrate West Virginia Italian Americans.

The Festival that so many attend year after year has been rated the "Top 100 Events in North America" by the American Bus Association, a "Top 20 Event" by the Southeast Tourism Society and one of the "Top Four Italian Festivals in the Nation" by the National Sons of Italy.

On the third Sunday of each month the WVIHF hosts a fresh, hot fritti sale on Main Street, Clarksburg. The festival is under the direction of a board of directors, and is made possible by the generous donations of its many sponsors.

The WVIHF Office is located at 340 West Main Street, Clarksburg. For those who wish to become a festival participant, vendor, or sponsor please contact the office by calling (304)622-7314 or visiting their website. Be sure to “Like” the Festival’s Facebook Page to stay up to date on the festival year round.
