At Rival Fitness family and fitness are key factors that have gone into making the gym a success. Family and fitness are the two (2) things that led Rival Fitness owner, Whitney Lambert to opening the gym. Her love for fitness came from the bond she built with her father when she would join him for his workouts at an early age, and she wanted to pass that on to her clients.
No matter what level of fitness a client may be at when they walk into Rival Fitness, they are welcomed. Classes at Rival Fitness are not a boot camp, and the goal is to keep all clients moving. Each class offers modifications for those who are just starting out on their fitness journey, and each of the gym’s instructors are normal people clients can relate to, and handpicked all instructors are handpicked by Lambert. Clients who initially felt uncomfortable starting their fitness journey have stayed at the gym and have become a part of the Rival Fitness family.
Rival Fitness offers classes in all four (4) major areas of fitness; strength, cardio, endurance, and flexibility, with a variety of classes offering a combination of those areas. Rival Fitness offers clients over 15 classes to choose from. Classes range from beginner to intermediate, with modifications available for intermediate classes. A list of classes, with their description, can be found on the MindBody app available for Android or Iphone users, or on Rival Fitness’s website.
Rival Fitness utilizes the MindBody app to make classes constantly accessible for clients. Clients can reserve a spot for a class they want to participate in through the app. MindBody also provides clients with a calendar of upcoming classes so clients have the opportunity to see what is being offered from day to day at the gym, and reserve their spot in advance. While class space is limited, Rival Fitness will do their best to accommodate clients who drop in. Rival Fitness also offers class passes that can be purchased through the MindBody app. Passes run 5 classes for $37.45, 10 classes for $64.20, and 20 classes for $117.70. To purchase passes, customers must “favorite” Rival Fitness then “view pricing” where they will be able to see a list of the service available for purchase. Rival Fitness stays updated on fitness trends and technology. Rival Fitness’s Fit3D scanning device is an example of that. Fit3D is a body imaging device that calculates body fat, weight, measurements, posture, body shape and more, which allows Rival Fitness staff to create fitness goals to better fit each client’s needs.
In addition to group classes, Rival Fitness offers customers 8 Week Challenges. The Challenges have been a hit with the gym’s clientele, which has led them to offer the challenges regularly. The challenges consist of 30 group members divided amongst 4 trainers, before and after pictures, 3D body imaging with Rival Fitness’s Fit3D, a nutrition coach, and a handbook that contains workouts if a challenge member cannot make it to class.
Childcare is also offered on Mondays, Tuesday, and Thursdays at Rival Fitness, and parents can reserve their child a spot through the MindBody app. Personal training is also available at the gym.
Since originating Rival Fitness has continued to expand as a gym, adding new classes and instructors who specialize in all different areas of fitness. Rival Fitness offers classes from 5:15a.m.-8:15a.m. with personal training offered during the day, and with classes picking back up in the late afternoon and running throughout the evening. Rival Fitness’s website provides clients and future clients more details on the gym. Rival Fitness is located at 112 North Sixth Street, Clarksburg.
