The City of Clarksburg held a non-mandatory pre-bid meeting on Thursday, February 21, 2019 at 10a.m. in the City Manager’s Conference Room. The purpose of the meeting was to discuss asbestos abatement and demolition of multiple structures. The meeting was conducted by Stantec Engineering along with City officials. The meeting’s agenda consisted of introductions, general project description, general bidding information, State and City taxes, wage compliance, project inspections, miscellanous items, comments from represenatives of the City and CURA , a question and answer session, and a conclusion of the meeting.
The City of Clarksburg will be accepting bids for two(2) contracts for asbestos abatement and demolition of multipe structures, and one for asbestos abatement only. The URA will be accepting bids for five(5) contracts. Two(2) for asbestos abatement only, one(1) for demoliton, and two(2) for abatement and demolition.
There were eight(8) contractors present for Thursday’s non-mandatory pre-bid meeting, all prospective bidders were encouraged to attend the meeting.
The bid opening will take place in the City Manager’s Confrence Room Tueday, sealed bids will be received by the City of Clarksburg on March 5, 2019 at 2p.m in the City Manager’s Confrence Room. A 2 envelope bidding system will be utilized for the bidding procedure. All contracts require a bid bond at 5% total of each contract base bid. The City’s B&O taxes will apply to the contractor, and the contractor is required to have a City business license or apply for a license, the building permit fees will be waived for the abestos abatement and demolition projects awarded by the City of Clarksburg and the URA.
