James and Law

In 1905 the James & Law Company was established after a merger between the James Shepard Company and the A.S. Law Company. Both Mr. James and Mr. Law strived to provide their customers the best selection of products and services available. While James & Law’s products have changed, they still set out to make sure each customers experience is pleasurable.

James & Law has been the official depository for textbooks and instructional materials in West Virginia since 1912. James & Law was originally contracted with fourteen publishers, but has grown to act as the agent for over fifty publishers. James & Law works directly with county officials to make the textbook buying process as smooth as possible, and even holds the textbooks in a warehouse to make the buying process easier for county officials.

James & Law had previously offered its customers a Gift Shop, Athletic Equipment, and Photography and Framing departments, but their time has since passed. James & Law continues to provide Office & School Supplies and the complete line of Lanier Office Products, including Copiers, Printers, Scanners and Fax. The store also has a complete West Virginia Book Section, Coin Supplies and an all American made Flag department.

With their decades of experience combined with their 6,500 sq. ft. display and furniture installation department, James & Law’s Office Furniture Design department provides customers with a stress free process when designing, expanding, moving or just making changes to their office environment.

James & Law has the largest Office Furniture display in North Central West Virginia. Their department that spans two floor barely touches the surface of what they have to offer their customers. The James & Law Company is proud to represent a wide variety of the top manufactures of case-goods as well as seating. The company can outfit small offices as well as home offices to large corporate office spaces with the furniture they need. The James & Law Company designed spaces for many larger corporations in the area, such as Steptoe & Johnson, Antero Resources, Dominion, and PDC. The James & Law Company can start a project from the very beginning. They will begin with drafting the design in the blue print stages, where their Computer Design department can provide customers with realistic views of their new furniture and how it will fit into the space. Then James & Law completes the job with a delivery team that is second to none.

To browse just a sample of what James & Law has to offer be sure to visit their online catalog, while other products and services can also be found on their website. James & Law is located at 217 West Main Street, Clarksburg and is open Monday – Friday 8:00a.m. – 5:00p.m. evening and weekend hours are available by appointment only.
