Work is in progress on the Ascension/ Brannon embankment failure repair project. Alan Stone Co. is currently in the process of pile driving wale beam with concrete lagging to place a retaining wall to prevent future slippage in the area. Foreman Jeremy Jarvis explained, “They’ll be halfway done with the pile driving for the wall this week, and they will soon be moving on to drain insertion and asphalt”. The next phases of the project will be removing the asphalt that is currently in place, installing stone, and completing street repairs with new asphalt. Alan Stone will also be installing catch basins with new 12” outlet storm water pipe. This will allow storm water to be captured and dispensed in a controlled system that will prevent future soil saturation.
